Physics Senior Lecturer Stephen Bosi on an incredible black hole discovery

Jake was joined in the studio yesterday by UNE’s Senior Lecturer in Physics, Stephen Bosi, to discuss a pretty remarkable discovery that might have slipped under your news radar in the last week.

The Very Large Telescope at the European Southern Observatory in Chile was part of an incredible effort to solve the mystery of how supermassive black holes formed in the early stages of our universe. It’s been a question that has puzzled scientists for years, and we might now know the answer with a bit more certainty.
