Orientation Interviews – Anna Barwick (PHAR110)
Anna Barwick joined Ben and Kim in the studio to have a conversation about what first-year students can expect in her unit. Anna is a Lecturer in clinical placements in Pharmacy and is also currently working part-time as a clinical pharmacist at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital. This impressive resume is only reinforced by her efforts to improve student support in their clinical placement positions.
Anna also teaches PHAR110 – Introduction to Pharmacy, a unit that introduces students to the pharmacy profession and teaches the importance of appropriate communication, the role that pharmacists can have in the legislative framework in which pharmacy operates, and the role of reflective practice and customer perception. This essential first-year unit will give students the skills and experience needed to continue through a Pharmacy degree and more details about PHAR110 can be found here.
This interview is part of a series of Orientation Interviews, designed to make first-year students feel more at ease and reassured about what they can expect at UNE. Starting out at University can be highly overwhelming and we want to make sure that we do everything we can to ensure that students feel as comfortable as possible.
Should potential first-year students have any questions or concerns about studying this unit, Anna Barwick can be contacted by email at aunger2@une.edu.au and by phone on 02 6773 3074. More information about Anna can be found here.
