Staying Safe From Snakes

As Australia heads into snake season, it’s easy to get caught up in the hysteria surrounding the dangers of snakes. But how dangerous are they really, and how worried about snakes should we be?

We are joined by a PhD candidate, snake catcher, and herpetologist Max Tibby, to talk about typical snake behaviour, how to avoid being bitten by snakes, and why there may not need to be as much worry surrounding snakes as you might think.

They also chat to us about the snakes of the New England region, their work as a snake catcher, and some of the myths about snakes they have heard throughout their career.
