Welcome to our 2024 Production of “Charley’s Aunt”!

The Armidale Radio Theatre Society are back with a new production, directed by WORK300 student, Nicholas Troon.  In this hilarious production ARTS tried something new, performing with a LIVE audience at the UNE Bistro on the 5th September 2024.

Charley’s Aunt is a hilarious play which follows two lovestruck boys attempting to propose to their respective loves.  Trouble blocks their way in the form of the girls’ melancholic guardian Sir Stephen Spettigue.  As so, the boys need to concoct a plot to get the girls away from their guardians glare and do so in hilarious fashion.  The play features mistaken identity, love, and plenty of laughs.

Our show is suitable for all audiences young and old, with some minor innuendos.

Act 1

This is act one of three.  We are introduced to our cast and our leading man Jack Chesney puts together a luncheon so that the boys can propose to their respective love interests.

Act 2

This is act two of three.  Trouble strikes the luncheon and the boys must think on their feet to get out of their sticky situation before the girls arrive at one o’clock sharp.

Act 3

This is act three of three.  Our show comes to a head in this thrilling conclusion.  Will the boys admit their misdeeds?  Will Fancourt keep up the charade?  Only one way to find out.
