Friday Arvo with Emily
About the Show
Emily Dickson is a second-year PhD student, studying the benefits of environmental enrichment for beef cattle welfare, although she is interested in all aspects of livestock welfare. During her undergraduate degree at UNE she also participated in projects focused on the affective states of chickens and sheep.
In her spare time she enjoys being active; she is currently playing rugby and hopes to one day compete in Olympic lifting competitions. Her love of animals extends to her kelpie, and the pair can often be seen running around Armidale together training for an ultra-marathon. Despite this, her favourite Sunday afternoon activity involves Netflix, a bag of popcorn, and the couch.
Friday Arvo with Emily sees her take over the microphone for her weekly intern shift on air and bring you interesting developments, discoveries, and interesting facts about animal science, animal welfare, and Australian cattle from 3pm to 5pm. Emily is the perfect Friday afternoon company for all you agricultural lovers out there!
